Alaska, the last frontier. The “other” country in America. I can’t believe we made it here.

Halfway Through Alaska

This is my first time in Alaska. Never in my little mind did I think I would ever make it here. It’s another country, that’s part of our country. It’s geographically, the size of the United States, and has the most dramatic weather patterns.

We found ourselves here last monday. We flew in from Seattle, Washington.

Anchorage is not what it seems. Leaving winter behind, and spring barely peeking through the melted tundra, it reminds me how amazing the sun and good weather can do to a city. As for myself, to see the sun set at 10pm is highly unusual for me. It means you don’t sleep and you stare at the sun longer than usual.

People come out of the woodworks. Tank tops, sandals, short shorts, start popping up in mid 50 degree weather. I’m still in my week old jeans, and my jacket. What gives?

We are here until Monday. I can’t wait to fly back to our west coast, and slowly make our way back to California. It’s not quite over, yet.

West Coast Is The Best Coast

The last time I was remotely near the Pacific Ocean was over 3.5 months ago. It has been a long trip, but it’s not entirely over yet. We’ll be in Seattle for the next few days. We’ll be taking off for Anchorage, Alaska on May 4th. We’ll be there until May 11th. If you’re near Anchorage, hit us up. We’re going to need a place to stay!
